“Non - Scheduled Air Transport Service” means an air transport service, other than a scheduled air transport, being operated for carriage of passengers, mail, goods and includes charter operations.

“Charter operation” means an operation for hire and reward in which the departure time, departure location and arrival locations are specially negotiated and agreed with the customer or the customer's representative for entire aircraft. No ticket is sold to individual passenger for such operation.

AOP (Air Operator Permit) What is an AOP?
An Air Operator Permit issued by Director General of Civil Aviation (Regulatory body of civil aviation in India) on behalf of Government of India which is a legal contract between the operator and the Government of India to start commercial air operation.

No building or structure shall be constructed or erected and no tree shall be planted on any land within the limits specified by the competent authority in respect of civil and defence aerodromes and Aeronautical Communications Stations without obtaining No Objection Certificate from the concerned agencies.

What is No Objection Certificate (NOC)?
No Objection Certificate or popularly abbreviated as NOC is a type of legal certificate issued by any agency, organization, institute or in certain cases, an individual, that does not object to the covenants of the certificate. This certification is a requirement at most of the government-based departments predominantly from the Indian subcontinent. As per rules, NOC from Airports Authority of India is must for a high-rise before getting permission from local authorities. In cases of constructing high rise buildings within 55 km radius of airports any builder or developer of that particular plot are to obtain NOC from MoCA or AAI as the case may be before approaching local authorities like Municipal Corporation etc. agencies for final approval of the project.
